Participant Roundtable: Performing Citizenship

Participant Roundtable: Performing Citizenship
US Pavilion courtyard
1:00–2:00p.m.

Amidst an increasingly walled world, and the surge of anti-immigrant sentiment everywhere, can citizenship be redefined from a jurisdictional concept to a practical one? Can we conceive of citizenship as a set of practices performed among diverse people who share contested spaces at varying scales of human interaction? How does the work represented in this exhibition, across dimensions, technologies and modes of civic engagement and artistic agency, respond to this challenge?
